4 【적당하다】(be) right; proper; suitable; good

5 【기교가】(be) good; skilled; able

6 【좋아하다】like; 【비교·선택하다】(be) better; preferable
▶ 나는 과일이 좋다 I like fruits.
▶ 이것이 휠씬 좋다 This is far[much] better (than that).
▶ 나는 배보다 사과가 좋다 I like apples better than pears.
▶ 나는 차보다 커피가 좋다 I prefer coffee to tea.
▶ 봄과 가을 중 어느 쪽이 좋으냐? Which do you like better, spring or autumn?
▶ 빨리 하면 할수록 더욱더 좋다 The sooner done the better.

7 【바라다】wish; hope; desire
▶ 그 소식이 정말이 아니라면 좋겠다 I wish the news may not prove true.
▶ 그래 내가 죽으면 좋겠니? So, do you wish me dead?
▶ 살아 생전에 그것을 보았으면 좋겠다 I wish I may live to see it.
▶ 100만 원이 있다면 좋겠다 I wish I had a million won.
▶ 소풍 날에 날씨가 좋으면 좋겠다 I hope it stays fine for the picnic.

8 【괜찮다】may; can; do not mind 《doing》; do not care 《if》
▶ 정원에 들어가도 좋습니까?―네, 좋습니다 May I go into the garden?─Yes, you may.
▶ 내 사전을 써도 좋다 You may use my dictionary if you like.
▶ 어느 것이나 좋으니 하나 다오 Give me one, please. or Any one will do.
▶ 그가 없어도 좋다 I can do very well without him.
▶ 얼마라도 좋으니 돈 좀 꾸어다오 Lend me whatever sum you can spare.
▶ 어떻게 되어도 좋다 I don´t care what happens.

▶ 그것을 안 해도 좋았었다 You need not have done it.
▶ 일부러 설명 안 해도 좋다 You need not trouble yourself to explain.
